Amazing 3D Optimus Prime

I found this really awesome 3D animation of Optimus Prime on the web. It pretty much stays true to the original design of the toy. The only change seems to be the colors. I do wish he had a voice over from the cartoon of him saying "Autobots! Transform and roll out!"

The artist's name is JJ. He's been working in 3D since 1999 and he's starting his own company. Based on this animation he deserves much respect. Check it out!

CraigsList Knowledge

It's amazing what you can learn from CraigsList. If you've never read a story from the "Rants & Raves" section you're missing out on some great comedy (at the expense of other people, of course). Or save some time by going straight to the "Best of CraigsList".

Today's lesson: CRACKHEADS AND MOTORCYCLES.

A beatdown or using rat poison might be going too far. But if I was this guy I would definitely try to get video of the Crackhead in the act. Never test the ingenuity of a Crackhead.

My first official entry!

Well, I feel it's only appropriate that I write my first entry thanking one of my best friends, Drew, for helping me get my site updated and blog installed. I've worked with him for over 5 years now and he is one of the best programmers I know.

He's moving to San Diego to go to UCSD and finish up his degree. Congrats, Drew! I know you're going to kick ass! We''ll be heading DOWN there to hang out and see if you got dialed into BOOYA!

Hurricane Katrina

The disaster that hit the southern region of the U.S. - hit close to home. My wife's sister and her husband were in New Orleans for their 2nd honeymoon when disaster struck. Their harrowing account of what happened over the course of the 5 days they spent inside the New Orleans Super Dome is pretty gruesome. There's too much to tell (read their interview in the San Jose Mercury) and all I can say is that whatever the media is showing it was really 100 times worse than how they made it out to be. Thankfully they are back home safe. Our hearts go out to all of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Our goverment failed those people miserably. This was nothing but a federal act of genocide. I'll leave it at that.

Marriage and all the joy it brings

My wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary with an official wedding ceremony and reception. We had our families and all of our closest friends there to help us celebrate. Everything went off just as planned. It was a really great way to celebrate one year of marriage. Once we get all the photos organized I'll post some of them here.

My awesome new job

I'll make this really short. I'm working at this start-up located in beautiful downtown Palo Alto and it has to be one of the THE BEST work experiences I have ever had. It's given me opportunites to work with people like Guy Kawasaki who in turn had me do something for Tony Hawk and, and... Well I could go on and on but I said I would keep this short. :) In the meantime you can check out my kids Krypto and Trinity on the company website. Krypto is in the sixth frame of the navigation and Trinity can be seen on the left hand side screenshot that says "Screensaver".
